The first Oris to feature a pointer date complication was introduced in 1938, and the iconic function has been a distinctive signature of the brand ever since. In this iteration, the pointer date has been combined with another Oris feature, the Big Crown, originally developed to allow aviators to easily adjust the time and wind their watches while wearing heavy pilot’s gloves. The Big Crown Pointer Date Calibre 403 uses a modified version of Oris’ in-house Calibre 400 movement, offering elevated levels of antimagnetism and a five-day power reserve, and comes with a 10-year warranty and 10-year recommended service intervals.
